Attitudes/ Values
  • Identify and name 2D shapes: Students should be able to recognize and name basic 2D shapes such as squares, rectangles, circles, triangles, and hexagons.
  • Identify and name 3D objects: Students should be able to recognize and name basic 3D objects such as cubes, cones, cylinders, and spheres.
  • Use mathematical vocabulary related to shapes, such as vertices, edges, faces, and symmetry.
  • Apply knowledge of 2D and 3D shapes in practical contexts, such as solving problems involving shape and space, with support appropriate to their individual needs.
  • Sort 2D shapes based on their attributes, such as the number of sides, the length of sides, and the number of angles.
  • Sort 3D objects based on their attributes, such as the number of faces, edges, and vertices.
  • Compare and contrast 2D shapes and 3D objects, identifying similarities and differences between 2D shapes and 3D objects, such as the number of dimensions and the presence of faces, edges, and vertices.
  • Create 2D shapes and 3D objects using various materials, such as paper, clay, and blocks.
  • Identify and describe real-world objects that are 2D shapes or 3D objects, such as circles on a clock face or a cone-shaped ice cream cone.
  • Solve basic geometric problems involving 2D shapes and 3D objects, such as counting the number of faces on a cube or sorting 2D shapes based on their attributes.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and enthusiasm in exploring and learning about 2D shapes and 3D objects in real-world contexts.
